Born in Saskatoon, SK Canada, Shannon has lived in Kelowna BC, Paris France, and Irun Spain. Her current location is Montréal QC, where she is completing an Anthropology degree with a Photography minor at Concordia University.
Interested in art of all forms, she obtained a diploma in the Fine Arts from Okanagan University College (now UBC-O). Her preferred form of artistic expression is photography, which she's been experimenting with since age thirteen. This is followed closely by film and paint. Shannon has worked independently as a photographer since 2001, and for the international photo company, Trans Ocean Photos in 2008.
Shannon has a keen interest in the written word, especially when it has to do with music, and began freelance writing for various publications in 2000. These publication's include The Saskatoon Star Phoenix, Saskatoon's The Grain of Salt, and Kelowna's Event Magazine; where she became a bi-monthly featured columnist. She volunteered for The Sheaf student newspaper at the University of Saskatchewan while there, and is currently the music editor of The Concordian student paper.
Shannon's current focus and inspiration is capturing live performances and creating portraits for musicians and bands. It connects her love of music with her passion for photography in a meeting of dimensions, where sound guides expression. |
